Page BR12 of the R51 service manual says to do rear right, front left, rear left, front right, in that order. Don't ask me why. When I did the bleed a couple of years ago I found a small diameter plastic tube (maybe 1/4" or 5/16") to put on the bleeder nipple. It lets you direct the brake ...

Guys, Im no mechanic by no means...but I have never heard of a timing chain " going bad"...and rarely have heard of a timing chain breaking..belts yes, chains, no. and at 66k miles? It's not actually the chain that goes bad, but the secondary timing chain tensioners wear through, on some ...

Are you sure it's not the ABS self test at about 12 MPH? It's normal for the vehicle to do this once each time after it's started. One way to isolate would be to put the transmission in 1 to make sure it doesn't upshift and listen for the sound.

If I recall I changed my rear diff fluid on my '05 for the first time around 30k and found a lot of metal shavings on the plug and the fluid was fairly dark, making me wish I had looked at it earlier. I was surprised at how beat the fluid seemed to be and how much was on the plug. Switched to Royal ...

I'm with skinny. I have 85k miles on my original pads and rotors. Had my front rotors turned 5k miles ago due to some vibration, but I think this set of brakes will make it to 100k. I'm not willing to mess with aftermarket stuff given that kind of proven durability of OEM hardware. The OEM brakes ar...

That's the correct part #.

Engine Oil: Mobil 1 5W-30
Rear Diff: Royal Purple MaxGear 75W-90

No way of knowing if they're the right choice, but it's what I run. Mobil 1 is cheap in 5 gallon containers, and Royal Purple has somehow gotten me to believe they're best for gear oils.

I put the Rancho 9000's on a few months ago but haven't played with the dial much. I think I have them tuned in to a 7 or 8 and I've been pretty happy with them. I also have the Airlift 1000 airbags in the rear; I would highly recommend these as the easiest and least expensive way to get rid of the ...

I don't have the part #'s, but no, you don't need a special tool. Just be careful with a flat head screwdriver and hammer. Use a towel or cloth between the screwdriver and lock ring to prevent from damage and sparking near the fuel.

Same issue here...dealer said it'd be $160 to replace a failed sensor. I'm living with the light for now, reasoning that the other three may not be far behind.

Wait, but you have to dismount the tire to replace the actual TMPS sensor, right? My TPMS light is coming on after ~20 minutes of driving, the dealer says they usually see this when a sensor battery goes low but they can't determine which sensor unless the light is on when you bring it in. $180 to r...

I put Rancho 9000XL shocks/struts on six months ago and I've been pretty happy with them...big difference from my worn out OEM shocks at 70k miles. Check Rancho's website.

Just so you're clear, the Pathfinder has coil-over struts in the front and shocks in the rear.

Well, I completed the fuel sender replacement today. It would not have been a bad job if Nissan had 1) used a more robust EVAP line connector, and 2) allowed just a little more slack in the pump electrical connector. Taking my time it took 5 hours, but could have been 3 if the connections hadn't bee...

Uh oh, parts came today and this is the first I'm hearing of the clip...is it completely necessary? It's a different part #? I ordered the "kit" from Courtesy Nissan. On the new sender I did notice a small black, cylindrical dome piece with a couple of wires coming from it, what's this for...
