I had the same problem when I first got my 08 Pathfinder. The first start of the day was tough. after that when running around town, subsequent starts would be fine. I checked the current draw when the engine was off and found that the draw is in the .5-6a range for a few minutes after the vehicle i...

As I read the manual for the 4L engine, the A/F sensor is upstream and the O2 sensor is downstream. The A/F sensor is changed via access behind the wheel well liners and the O2 sensors are on the exhaust tubes underneath. From my service manual. MIXTURE RATIO FEEDBACK CONTROL (CLOSED LOOP CONTROL) T...

Up stream O2 sensors can be the culprit. Mine was getting 17mpg easily and then it dropped to 13mpg. Connected my obd 2 and used torque lite and saw one of my upstream sensors had voltage way outside its normal zone so it was reading lean and was dumping fuel to compensate for the false reading. Re...

Yeah i have been driving very softly on the pedal and using cruise control as much as I can. If im only getting 19l/100km thats only 12.3mpg. So something is not right... That's exactly what my '08 4.0 4WD gets with normal driving around my smallish town (50+% towing 4500#) using 87 octane gas. The...

You'll lose some mpg to increased friction with the road surface too.

For max mpg from the tires you need to use bicycle style wheels and tires.

Are you sure you really have a problem with the electrical system. I had a similar problem where the engine would not start after the truck was sitting overnight. I looked at the electrical stuff and had the battery tested and they said it was ok. Nothing conclusive was found. However, I ended up re...

On my 08 R51 with the 6 cyl gas engine, I noticed that it takes some time for the current draw on the battery to drop down to the 50mA level. Somewhere around 20-30 minutes. Yes...I had read this elsewhere. I will do some more thorough checks over the weekend and see what I can come up with. I have...

I was looking for info on a reserve fuel tank and found this thread. First there is a certain amount of fuel in the tank that is unusable. Could be 5-10%. Second, apparently North Americans like to think they are getting extra mileage out of their vehicles and think the distance they can go after th...

Re: Need help taking off the rear bumper

Hi, over the winter I managed to back up into a VERY solid snowbank. It ended up putting a good sized dent into the rear bumper, so I was wondering if anyone knew how I could take the bumper off in order to bang the dent out? Thank you I'm not near my vehicle right now so I don't remember if it is ...

... BTW, are you sure it's ".25A" and not ".025A?" If it is .25 amps, then you have a hell of a draw! For parasitic loss, you don't want to see more than 50-milliamps, which is .050A. Turns out that the current draw is about .25A for some minutes after the vehicle is switched of...

Re: rebuilt VQ40DE engine: cannot turn the crankshaft any mo

I recently finished the engine rebuild. All bearings and cams were lubed with builders lube. It turned very easily and smooth after assembly. I have not worked on the engine for 3 weeks and now I cannot get the crank to turn, even with a 3 foot cheater bar. The VQ40DE is all aluminum, so it shouldn...

I recently bought an '08 SE. It came with one key and fob. I bought two keys with integrated fobs off eBay. I went to the local locksmith who said he could program them. He cut the keys, however when he tried with his system, the new keys were not accepted, but the original key still worked. He was ...
