Looking at the manual, the parking brake is a conventional drum brake that is inside the rear rotors. There is a single cable from the pedal the joins up to two separate cables (one for each side). You should be able to remove the rotor and see the brake assembly. See if the cable end and the toggle...

Searched this and don’t really see anything on it. This is the most relevant post I’ve found. Anyone have thoughts on the parking brake adjustment? My brake now goes all the way to floor and doesn’t hold. Do I just adjust the nut on the pedal under the dash? Surely it’s not THAT simple. But...

In the image those don't look like new rotors. They are already pitted by rust. The area where the pad engages should be shiny and smooth. I would look at the back side of the rotor. Check that the caliper can float on the pins. The nature of disk brakes is that the dust will collect on the wheel. I...

Windshield washer solvent is sometimes blue. And that's what it looks like to me, but I can't think of a reason why solvent would spill over. Now on the other hand it does make sense that coolant would spill over on occasion due to being pressurized (hot). I just can't see where it's coming from. A...

If you don't want to make a scene with the dealer than I would try an E-Z Out to get the bolt out. Use lots of penetrating oil first. If the bolt won't budge then drill and tap a hole and put a new bolt in. Doesn't have to be the same as the old one, just something to hold the coil in place (there i...

Are you sure you didn't accidentally silence the horn beep feature? I know there have been a couple of occasions where the horn no longer beeped when locking after my wife has driven the Pathy. From the manual: If desired, the horn beep feature can be deactivated using the keyfob. To deactivate: Pr...

Does it crank and not fire, or does it not do anything? Mine would crank and crank but still not start. Turned out to be a bad battery and the voltage to the ECM was dropping too low. Apparently the motor can crank at a pretty low battery voltage, but the ECM won't work. Replacing the battery fixed ...

....I only had water in it but even with that less than a mile seems like a really short time for the engine to overheat. Most modern engines (or even engines from 30 years ago) will overheat quickly with just water in them. The normal thermostat setting is about the same as the boiling point of wa...

Re: Interior Storage

New to the Nissan family with a recently purchased 2007 Pathfinder LE. Overall I like it a lot but am missing the interior cubbies and storage our Honda Pilot has. Where do you guys store extra oil, jumper cables, etc.? I hate to have all of that stuff rolling round in the back all the time, the Pi...

Could be a bad oil pump. Also check the oil temp. If it is too high the oil will be thinner than it should be.

Normally trailer coupler height is around 17 inches, from the ground to the bottom of the coupler, and most hitch manufacturers design their hitches to work with a ball mount that will end up very close to this measurement. ___________________ roadside assistance near me There are plenty of receive...

Re: '09 Pathfinder hard to take out of park and put into gea

This Pathy has recently become difficult to shift into gear from park. All else seem to be good but sometimes it takes a few minutes to be able to squeeze the trigger and shift. Any ideas?? Thanks Mine recently did that for about a day and a half about a week ago. When starting out after it was par...

IME, 91 octane is around a $.75 to $1 per gallon than 87 octane. I run 87 except when towing my boat in the mountains. On the flat and around town, 87 works fine.
