Oddly, I could not register an account - as both website links have a bug in it - in ordering anything to Ontario, Canada. (every US State and every other Canadian province was there)
Maybe they don't want Emperor Trudeau getting his hands on Nissan tools....

Re: J-48761 Timing Chain and Tensioner Work Coming

Zip ties have always been my best friends when doing timing chains on any vehicle. Strung around both sides of the chains and pulled tight, nothing can move or jump. Plus it pulls everything out of the way for working with the tensioners. The one thing you positively need to remember is pulling the ...

Re: Odometer Display Disappeared

I don't recall ever having a Pathy cluster apart, but most of those LCD displays are connected to the mainboard with either ZIF connectors or soldered pins. When they fail, it's usually a problem with the ZIF being dirty or unseated in the former case, or a broken solder joint which can be fixed by ...

Re: Passenger Airbag Warning Light on or off?

ASIST only shows two recalls on the '06's, the Crash Zone sensor and the driver's bag emblem, and neither one affected operation of the PABI. The R51's never got the P7318 recall which affected the Bag Brain, that was reserved to Titan-Frontier-Xterra. So there's really nothing you could have undone...

Any stunt driver can tell you that even a '69 DeVille will handle with 80 psi in the tires. :P

Re: Constant gear hunting. What gear am I in?

Chances are it's just locking and unlocking, but your fundamental issue is that the trailer is just too heavy for the truck to pull comfortably. It's expressing its discomfort by constantly shifting to maintain the powerband against the extreme load.

If they're both hotter in front then they're both shot, especially if they're both hotter in front while the engine is misfiring. Unburned gas turns the a$$ end of a cat cherry red. I have to suspect one or both of yours are partially blocked.

Yep, I was afraid of that. Collapsed frame underneath all that bent trim. Think of it this way, it buckled and went to heaven saving its owners. Kiss it goodbye fondly, it did its job.

Re: P1273 A/F B1 S1 Lean - expertise required!

Wait a sec... IMPORTANT: Did you clear out the self-learning data after replacing the A/F? If not, pretty much all the P127x/P128x codes will keep coming back even though the problem is fixed. If your scanner has work support for clearing LTFT then you can do it that way, otherwise pull the MAF whil...

Re: P1273 A/F B1 S1 Lean - expertise required!

My bad, I misread that. The 1.29V is slightly rich, about 14.0:1 (ideally should be 14.7:1). The ECM does cross-check S1 vs S2, so an S2 that's flatlined after the cat is "lit" can cause P127x/P128x codes. The S2's should both be switching once you raise the RPM's with the cats lit, from b...

Re: P1273 A/F B1 S1 Lean - expertise required!

Your A/F sensors are centered at 1.5V and biased at about 0.3V, rich is lower than 1.5V and lean is higher. So there's no way either one should ever be reading 0.11V. That equates to about a 10.5:1 mixture, which is not even in the real world. The heaters have a common supply and share a common grou...

Re: P0430 on 2003 LE **and now P0306**

The thermometer will tell you, just make sure it's fully lit before you test. Take it for a short ride, don't just idle it. If the outlet isn't significantly warmer than the inlet, the cat is dead and possibly blocked. You can also just pop the front O2 and see if it runs better. If it does, that ca...

I doubt they will totoal it since it has so much book value.
I dunno, Palmer, I'd suspect that's worse than it looks. It will depend on how much damage there is to the structure underneath the left rear quarter trim. Pulling out and repairing a damaged quarter can run $10K+ all by itself.

Re: P0430 on 2003 LE thoughts?

Neither of your cats are warmed up enough for those readings to mean anything. The front and rear O2's will both be switching when the cats are lit. The ECM determines the health of the cat by comparing the front/rear switching rates when cruising. S2/S1 must be 0.75 or less, a higher ratio means th...
