Re: Issue installing electric trailer brake wiring kit 2005 Pathy SE

That's a regular 4-wire controller and the wire colors for all of them are wooden-leg standard: Black: +12V White: Ground Red: Input from Brake Switch Blue: Output to trailer brakes The Ford cable won't fit your Pathy, so if you had it installed by someone else then the installer must have cut the F...

Re: Issue installing electric trailer brake wiring kit 2005 Pathy SE

Seems pretty obvious the brake controller is mis-wired if it isn't defective. It has to be getting/giving an improper brake signal to/from the car all the time. If the accessory trailer-brake pigtail wasn't used and it's wired it straight into the car wiring, it may simply be on the wrong side of th...

Re: Sunroof

No fuse, but it does share the circuit breaker with the Power Seats. If your seat still works, that isn't it. To check it, pull down the overhead console and first make sure the motor has power, ground and ignition signals. The right tool is a test lamp. At the motor connector, the Pink wire on pin ...

Re: Issue installing electric trailer brake wiring kit 2005 Pathy SE

Ordinary 4-wire brake controllers shouldn't affect brake lights, they use the lamp signal as an input and have no provision to light anything up. So I assume you have a fancy one with a separate trigger and an I/O brake wire. In that case, yes -- and if the lights don't go out, try unplugging the co...

Re: 2022 Nissan Pathfinder in Russia costs $150,000!

I'm pretty sure Lada is still around, and I think some others. Kind of weird, though. Over there a car is $150K and gas is probably $0.08 a liter.

Re: Issue installing electric trailer brake wiring kit 2005 Pathy SE

Do they go off when you press the brake? If so, then it's almost certainly a wrong relay (NC instead of NO). I don't know if the relays in the pigtail kit are the same ones. The wiring is somewhat different in the two systems, so maybe not. Here's a link to the relay page in NissanPartsDeal, the thr...

Give it a few years. On the current trajectory, it won't be long before they're $150K here too.

Re: Sunroof

The motor is easy-peasy, it's right above the roof console. See RF-53 here for the exploded drawing and R&I instructions: https://www.nicoclub.com/service-manual?fsm=Pathfinder%2F2009%2FRF.pdf However, I should point out that the motors fail once in a blue moon. The built-in controllers don't le...

The 'stat side can be replaced easily if you gouge it with a scraper, the block side not so much. If you really want to seal both sides, use something that comes off easily with solvent and not explosives.

Re: Issue installing electric trailer brake wiring kit 2005 Pathy SE

It would be underneath the righthand kick panel if it had one, but it doesn't. Not all the Pathies and Frontiers needed the accessory harness. I just checked the FSM, and yours doesn't. See page LT-121: https://www.nicoclub.com/service-manual?fsm=Pathfinder%2F2005%2Flt.pdf If it didn't come with a f...

Re: Issue installing electric trailer brake wiring kit 2005 Pathy SE

The electric brake pigtail and the relay pigtail are two different things. The brake pigtail should be on the lefthand side, not the right. Usually it's way up high on the leg of the Main Harness that descends behind the parking brake, taped back to the harness.

You should find the pigtail for the trailer relay harness taped back to the harness, probably a bit further down than the branch that goes to the door. They're often out of sight on the back side.

Re: Issue with Passenger front power window

Yep, that's the front edge of the door you're looking at in the pic. If it was mounted on the truck, the accordion rubber and wire bundle would be connecting the door to the door frame. Separate the grommet ends from the door and frame and check the wires inside.

Re: Issue with Passenger front power window

Hi thanks, so newbie here, where are you saying to peal back the ambilical cord covering? Between the door and car frame? Yes. That coupling has to flex in a coiling action every time the door is opened and closed, so even though special wire with finer strands is used in the construction, the bund...
