My '07 takes forever to disengage. If you switch to 2WD then stop, drive a few inches in reverse, and then go forward again it comes right out. I have to do this on snowy mornings to get out of my driveway (big hill!) to make sure I'm not in 4WD when I get on the highway 1.5-2 miles later.

i haven't driven with mine in through a winter yet. I suppose that dropping the air pressure to minimum would reduce stiffness.
