It's been a while but I've flushed the transmission several times now. I've still got some smod in the radiator and engine. I thought I had enough out to do some driving. I have been flushing the radiator with water and got it clean enough to drive it. I took it out and before I got to a mile the e...

I've seen some pretty low indicated oil pressures when fully warmed up in the summer with various VQ engined vehicles. As long as the light doesnt come on I usually dont worry about it.Some indicators just indicate lower than others. Also the modern trend to recommend relatively thin oils even in su...

Did the K&N filter come prior to the loss of power?
Nissan MAFS hate K&N filters as they dont tolerate the oil that always seems to come off them

Can I use Ethanol-free 89 octane?
thanks
Yes.
For best performance I use premium but the price difference to regular is so big and the performance difference so small I wont fault anyone who uses regular.
89 especially is fine.

I'm a Chemist and the high milage version should include some seal swellers for your fuel system gaskets.
I have yet to use it though but use the regular Seafoam on occasion as an addition to the tank.

Armourerdoug wrote:How does in increase compression? That’s interesting
I think he means using the engines compression for engine braking.
I do not own a R52 and Grumpah knows alot about them but my expectation would also be higher revs to reduce lugging for engine and tranny

Welcome back!!!!
Glad to hear you are enjoy your vehicle and getting your moneys worth.

Keep in mind the bypass does reduce your coolant capacity for the tranny.
Just throw a new radiator in there and restore the stock plumbing especially if you do heavy loaded summertime driving. :D
