First rear brake job at 170,000

Finally today I decided to do my rear pads for the first time at 170K, Wow!. It was very much a piece a cake. I had began to hear a squeak here and there when I braked so I figure it was time, sure enough the pad was even with the alarm terminal when I removed it. My front ones were done at 144K. Ne...

I guess I am :) but maybe it's because I do not remove the TB from the car; always did while on the car. If you unplugg the TB and remove it for clenaing then yes you will need to do the accelerator pedal released position and throtle valve closed position learn.
P.S I.ve cleaned it every 50,000

I've cleaned my TB three times and have never had to relearn or reset anyhing. My cleaning involved carb cleaner and a toothbrush. I brushed the entire butterfly inside and outside as much as possible with a rag on the botom of the TB so it soaks up any excess cleaner and does not flow down the TB. ...

Don't sweat it man, do the by pass if you don't want to have the catastrophic contamination. I've logged 100,000 miles after the bypass; my tranny is like the day I drove it new off the lot and I have only done one drain and refill in 165,000 miles driven, fliud looks and smells fine. :P

It's now 3 weeks since I had this done and I am happy to have a functioning fuel gauge. I got so use to driving by the mileage that I still reset my trip meter everytime I refuel just to have an idea of the distance traveled vs. the fuel gauge information :D I went the farthest distance I have ever ...

Finally! fuel sending unit

So it just happens that my 05 VIN does not fall into the fuel sending unit recall and I have been driving without a properly functioning fuel gauge for the last 70,000 miles (I now have 155,000)and a MIL light on. I called up the dealer spoke to the service manager and even though they can't do it f...

If you got that many miles from the OEM pads you must drive like a granny. Actually I don't, its the lack of brake use. I daily drive highway at sustained 70-80mph :) I purchased the stock OEM pads, not the advantage brand they now have as an alternative. The rotors were half the cost of the OEM. I...

First brake job at 144,000 miles!!

Well i thought it might be time to do my first brake job since I was begining to feel some pulsation under hard braking and they are the original brakes with 144K miles. Overall it's easy and I was amazed I still had pad left in all but maybe one pad (driver outboard). I bought the premium Centric r...

Yeah, I don't think I would worry to much about the filter size. I actually do the opposite, replace the filter every 8,000 miles and the oil every 4,000

Genuine PSF Fluid?

Is there anything different about Nissan's PSF fluid? Service manual calls for it and says Canadian models to use DEXRON III. Is it alright to use DEXRON III ?
