I changed rad fluid at 38 ,000 km , along with trans and transcase and diff fluids . At most i change rad fluid every 2 years if i don't hit the 40,000 km mark

Your second paragraph contradicts what your original argument is lol. If the radiator doesnt do squat for the trans (which I agree with), why are you afraid of bypassing? In my mind, squat is still better than not having squat. I'm in a unique situation because nobody else on this forum, or others ...

Well I am taking no chances , will be ordering a new trans cooler with fan and temp sensor , $200. or so instead of $3000. for a new trans make sense . Just wish nissan would own up to a defective rad and do something . I flush and put in new fluids in all the systems , if the rad would rust through...

true , I had 78,000 km on mine with about 10-15km more on them .

Do you mean bypass the engine radiator and just use the trans cooler mounted in front of the main rad , or an ANOTHER trans cooler to the already supplied trans cooler ?

wondering if this would be covered under the ultimate 6 year extended warranty , or because it is the rad RUSTING through it would be like the AC hose that runs to the rear rad , not covered ? Seems premature rust through is expected and voids any warranty on the things that go because of the rust .

had that done with the rusted AC pipe . Seems Nissan uses pre rusted components !

no they did not fix it , just had this done on my 2007 , nissan quality ! my 98 exploder never had an ac prob in 10 years of service !
