Your PF is at the age that the individual tire stem batteries wear down, causing this. This mandated feature was thanks to Ford Explorer, Firestone, and the recommended tire pressure to get a soft ride some years ago. As a result the tires overheated & blew. Personally, I monitor my tires closel...

It is a self-diagnostic routine for the ABS. Nothing to worry about.

On the next set of tires, would I get better MPG by going to a 70 series tire? From what I can find, the tread width is ½inch less and shorter diameter will affect odometer by 3.3%. Narrow tire width would reduce rolling resistance. I often have questioned the wisdom of the tire size Nissan has chos...

I use a product called MotorKote for several reasons [Walmart carries it now]. One is that the PF may sit in the driveway a few days unused and I don’t want to worry about possible oil starvation. Another is reduced friction, which my trusty 1989 Stihl chainsaw can attest to. Anyway, shortly after t...

In watching this forum for a lot of years and listening to the numerous testimonials, I come to the conclusion that once contamination happens, the transmission is toast. If, under warranty (extended or not), it is an automatic replacement of BOTH radiator & trans. Again from my observations, th...

passenger wiper arm loose

The passenger wiper arm has developed some play as it returns to the resting position. Noisy operation as it hits the stop area. You can take the arm and move it several degrees. Don’t know if it was kept from moving due to ice when turned on. Any idea what got stripped? Arm or wiper motor?

Thanks for the frank report. I am sure many here appreciate your comment. It was in the back of my mind to wonder if the CVT unit was too small for the job in a PF, (I tow) although it has seemingly done well in smaller cars. While this is my first Nissan (used 2006 PF) it has for me been a lower-co...

I don’t recall the details, but Nissan has the deductable option tor those beyond the 80K. However the deductable increases as the mileage increases. Since this is a very complicated trans with a lot of valve solenoid bodies, the only recommended transmission service is a Nissan replacement (job wor...

Wow, two Ohio posters in a row. I'm in Central Ohio. You guys ever find any ethanol free gas in your areas? http://www.pure-gas.org/ The next state to your West has a number of stations. When I bought a tank in that corn growing state, the only available was 90 octane and was 10¢ more than premium....

Really wish the R51 had more gears. Agree. This engine has plenty of power to drop it down in rpm's and not be nearly as annoying as many other vehicles. My wifes Acura MDX has 300hp and 6th gear is utterly useless without downshifts. Several hills my PF will climb in 5th pulling a trailer that the...

A 2005 to 2012 PF is what is called a R51.
You have mistakenly posted this in the R52 (2013 & up)
