Re: 92 Pathfinder

If replacing an entire set of injectors, I usually replace the fuel pressure regulator while I'm in there. The diaphragm inside of them can fail over time and you are already at the fuel rail when replacing the injectors.

Re: Complete Suspension Rebuild

I've never heard about using Land Rover springs, but I never really got into the R50's that much when it came to modifying the suspension. I'm not sure what you mean as to limiting your travel. A lift kit on MacPherson struts is usually just a spacer plate bolted to the top of the strut. The strut o...

Re: P0430 and my fix

What I found with these types of modifications is that extensions that work for someone may not work for someone else hence why the extensions all come in different lengths and bends. It gets pretty pricy after a while and your best option would have just to replace the bad o2 sensors to begin with...

Re: Does anyone know who makes the Nissan OEM T Stat?

Fuji is probably the maker of the VQ40DE thermostats in North America. Sumitomo is another OE supplier of Nissan thermostats. I've never seen Fuji thermostats available on the aftermarket, so if you find them, let me know!

Re: 2006 PF LE Engine Swap - Am I Crazy?

If I was going in there, I would also replace the oil gallery cover gaskets on the front of the rear timing cover. They have upgraded gasket kits with new bolts available. If the gasket blows out, it causes the oil pressure to drop. It's too bad your not a little closer to where I live in VA. I have...

Re: Quick general question

There are actually three timing chains; one chain around each bank of camshafts and a primary chain that runs from the crank to the cams. The only ones that really had any issues with them in Pathfinders were on the 05-10 VQ40DE engines of the R51 series. With those, problems were caused by upper ch...

Re: New year, new-to-me Pathy

The transmission fluid should state that it is recommended for NissanMatic Type "D" ATF; most synthetics are. Type "D" ATF is actually the original Dexron formula and similar to Dexron II, as well; they have a slightly thinner viscosity that Dexron III/Mercon ATF, which is okay f...

Re: scanner for 1992 pathfinder?

The Nissan OBD system used in the WD21 Pathfinders wasn't as sophisticated as later, OBD II systems. The diagnostics are actually done using the red and green LED lights on the side of the ECM. Nissan did have a tool which was made by Kent-Moore and is obsolete; I actually have one. But all it does ...

Those are cool wheels, they'll look good on your X. :D
Yeah, they'd probably work with spacers, but I'm not a big fan of spacers. Wheels got shipped out via FedEx this morning, anyway!

Re: From R51 to N50; life must go on!

I started ordering parts for the Xterra and been thinking about what I can use from my Pathfinder. I ordered a Nissan tow hitch for $271 shipped; I could have gone with Curtis or Draw-tite for less money, but the Nissan hitch has the bracket for my Nissan 7-pin connector to bolt to. It's a cleaner l...

Re: Trouble Finding Interior Parts

The console latch per the TSB is expensive and not all of the colors are still available. IIRC, I think they wanted close to $30 for the part and I ordered the one for "K" trim and it was no longer available. That said, it's not a real visible part so I don't think the color of the latch r...

Re: Complete Suspension Rebuild

With a 2 inch lift in the front should I be worried about the cv joints? I would like to have bilstiens or a tougher shock than factory. What should I do for the front setup? Should I just do a spacer with new oem struts and springs. Or is there a bilstien or etc. that will work? It's not going to ...

Re: What are some of the better airfilters?

Personally, I think the genuine Nissan filters are the best; they also have their Nissan Value Advantage filters that cut the cost a couple of bucks. That said, I usually use Denso, Mahle (which I wouldn't be surprised if they made some of the OE Nissan filters), Purolator One or AC Delco, which is ...

Re: So I checked my airfilter today... - PSA

That's typical for the air filter to get dirty just on the one side; it's the way the air is directed. Some have tried the "air box mod" where they cut away the plastic duct extension inside the box, but I've never heard of any real benefits afterwards and would advise against it. The air ...
