You do not notice it as much around town. I am getting about 15-16 around town (depending on how heavy my foot is). On the highway is where you really notice it. on a 110 mile trip to my in-laws house up in the ridges I averaged 20mgp for the first time in a good while. I was getting about 13.5-14.8...

I have the same rack and love it. I took off the faring on the front and gained about 2 mpg. there is a little bit of wind noise at times but it is not noticeable most times.

Rear brake job

Good evening all. I have to do a rear brake job on my 08 and was wondering if there is anything special that has to be done to push in the rear caliper. I know on my wife's 06 Chrysler Sebring you have to use a special tool that rotates the piston while pushing it in. I have 76k on my truck and am g...

One way to check if the problem is in the trailer is to take a battery charger and put the ground on the tongue and touch the positive terminal to each pin. also you can also pick up an item called de-bug plug from the auto parts store. it plugs into the harness or your truck and lights up if the ch...

I have the AVS shield and used a drill bit made for plexiglass (bought them at Harbor Freight) to drill new holes. it was real easy and i was able to reattach the rubber seal.

I have always wondered how much fuel these trucks use idling. when it is cold out I let it warm up anywhere from 5 to 15 min. also I have noticed that until the transmission fluid comes to temp it likes to hold a higher RPM, even in overdrive. all of this has my fuel mileage averaging around 13-14mp...

The rear diff is easy to change. at 60k I would change the front and transfer case also (provided it is a 4wd). they all use the same drain and fill plug washers. also many here will tell you not to have the transmission flushed. it seems to do more harm than good. just simply do a drain and fill. t...
