Swapping Armada diffs for better performance?

And of course the gears and extended mirrors.

What does the tow mode actually do to the TCM? Chevy has te same mode for the tranny and only thing I've noticed is that it holds the gears a bit longer and downshifts a bit earlier for added engine braking.

The tow mode mod would be worth looking into. On my dads Yukon it makes a huge difference. Shifts stronger and hold gears for the appropriate time instead of instantly going for the next gear.

Thought I'd chime in on this again.

With my old tires (33.1") and 3.36's, the speedometer was spot on. Even though the relation of the old tires and new tires with respect to the old gears and new gears was not 1:1. But it was nice.

Now, with the larger tires (34.6") my speedo reads slow and it seems to be on the order of 8+%. Using GPS and those cop slow down signs with speed readout.

Brakes and Suspension are weak points for sure when towing with this car. Even if you have trailer breaks. The airbag helps a little but nothing considerable. I pulled a larger boat recently (6k-7k) about 20 miles to the marine recently. I was on the bump stops the entire time. Granted the tongue weight was a little heavier but it was pretty bad. New springs would be needed for serious towing. There was no way I could have pulled this boat any considerable distance.
