My MPG's dropped significantly, this is with the addition of larger tires, and wider wheels along with the new diffs.

I'm wondering, since the speed sensors are post diff, does that mean with the new tire size, I would then have to only compensate for tire size to get the ACTUAL achieved MPG, as in add x.xx% given the new taller tire size?

I typically get 12.5, and my tires are about 8.45% larger than stock, does that mean I add 8.5% to my MPG? :?:

Comes out to 13.55, not bad.

Same goes for speed compensation, obviously.

that was my understanding, just need to compensate for the tire size since there's no way to tell the ecu you have bigger tires.

Yes, and also since the sensors are post diff, no need to compensate for the ratio change. Found a few calculators that do that too, but doesn't seem as if it's needed.

I checked my speed after the diff swap with GPS. I was surprised how close the speedo and GPS was. Less than 1mph deviation.

What size tire do you have? Difference from stock?

Same here. I was surprised at that. My tires are 33.1 and with the new gears, it's all the same. (speed). GPS and those police radar clocking deals, all verified.

RPM's have changed a little bit though, like has been reported.

My list of MPH @ RPM 2.92 oem gears. in 5th speed highway in cruse:

60--MPH @ 1500 RPM
70--MPH @ 1900 RPM
I'm at 1800 @ 60 and 2100 @ 70.

Doing the front and rear differential swap next Sunday. Got the redline gear oil .
Clay350 and Nmax when you pulled the rear differential shafts to switch them into the new pumpkin, did you have to take of the differential cover , is there anything holding it from inside? Or you guys just used the sliding hammer to pull them out. I dont want to remove the differential covers if I dont have to. Thanks.

In order to remove the rear, the cover didn't need to come off. Same goes for the front.

Here's a good write-up for the front:

Ok. Thanks.
Jusy want to be sure you understand what I am asking. Removal and replacement of front and back is fine, I am asking about the rear shafts that need to come out of pathfinders differential and installed into the new pumpkin because of the ABS System incompatibility. There is nothing neaded to be removed from Inside of the diff. To be able to remove the side axle shaft mounts? Correct? Just slide them out...

Well I am in the club. Finished front and rear differential swap and ss brake lines. Wow love it. I can burn the tires like nothing right now. Havent tested it much but. What a difference. I tested gps speed vs pathy gauges. Almost identical. . I tried it with 5 people including myself and clocked it 0 to 60 at 6.2 sec. I am going to meauseure it only by myself. Drove it on highway 80 mph. Like you guys say no more then 200 additional rpms. Tested AWD. Both diffs work great. Have red line oil in them. 1 more last thing left is uprev dino tune..

good to hear! i'm foaming at the mouth to do this. we recently relocated to the denver area and i've been floating my wife for the past 2-3 months while she tries to find a new job. she just got a contract to hire gig and should know something soon, so once my funds level recovers i really want to do this.

so did you order the diffs from a parts place online, or just hit your local junk yards?

are you still stock size tires?

can't imagine how it performs with a tuner on it. i mean i know the difference it made when i put my bully dog on, so that plus gears and wow. must really feel like it has a v8 now :)

Yeah after tune I can imagen. I am getting my own uprev tuner with license, illget my iwn tunes plus dino. Plus making it lighter helps alot. I removed 600 plus lbs off it.
Differentials I found rears for 475 bucks LKQ has alot of them range from 900 to 475.all 2011 like brand new. Free shipping and 6 month warranty. Just go to car-parts.com and search for 2008 infinity QX56 and you will find them LKq from ohio are cheapest. Front ones are hard to find because they have to be 08 and newer. 07 and earlier are week housings and brake. Took me couple months to find goodone for 450 bucks. Everyone wants 800 plus for front ones..
Yes I am staying stock size tires.
And what do you mean it feels like V8? This mod is for V8's. V6's already. Have these gears, thats my understanding.
