What oil filter are most of you running on your V6? And if you use the Nissan filter do you get any start up noise?

I've used Nissan and Mobil 1 but usually go with a NAPA Gold (wix). I get a little start up noise (maybe 2 seconds worth) but that's been the case since new. 110k so far.

I use a product called MotorKote for several reasons [Walmart carries it now]. One is that the PF may sit in the driveway a few days unused and I don’t want to worry about possible oil starvation. Another is reduced friction, which my trusty 1989 Stihl chainsaw can attest to. Anyway, shortly after the PF purchase at 67K, the motor developed a whining noise [timing chain?]. The MK made it go away. Now has 98K.

I have used something called Tufoil in the past with great results in several cars and trucks and it works so I am sure that the MotorKote you use works on the same idea. I would use an additive on my new to me 2012 PF the only thing I am worried about is if I do have a motor issue during the warranty time Nissan is quite clear in the manual do not add any oil additives to your oil so that is the only thing keeping me from adding anything.

I just picked up a Nissan oil filter for my PF from the local dealer and I cant believe how small the filter is! It looks like it belongs on a push mower!?

Pretty much par for the course these days. They seem to work fine...i've had sampling done at 10k intervals on synthetic and the oil was well within spec.

Been using OEM when the oil change is 19.99 at the dealer; otherwise when I do it I've used Bosch, Fram, and even the cheap Purolator from Walmart; never had an issue of noise with any of them.

I usually use Nissan filters, but go with Purolater Pure One's in a pinch. I have also used the "regular" Purolator filters and Bosch Distance filters (which are essentially Pure One filters) and haven't had any issues with any of them. I will not use Fram.

I use Wix 51356 and here is a good place to get them:
https://www.filter1.com/

$5.43 each with $5 flat rate shipping.

2011 Pathfinder V6 4x4

Just picked up Mobil 1 filter and Mobil 1 full synthetic for an oil change. I just opened the manual, and there are 2 different amounts of oil to put back in.

From the manual:

With oil filter change

VQ40DE 5-3/8 qt
VK56DE 6-3/4 qt

I don't understand what the difference is??

Just dawned on me, the 5 qt. jug forces you to buy another 1 qt jug and for-go the savings.....sigh.
