How much to top off after doing By-Pass?

Postby porksoda » Wed May 21, 2014 4:49 pm

Well just did the By-Pass yesterday on my Pathfinder. A very small amount of tranny fluid came out. I did not think much of it but Now that I think about it I wonder how much fluid could be left in the tranny cooler?

I ask because today I felt the tranny slip a little today. Feels like it may be a little low.

Thanks in advance!

Here is what I did for the By-Pass:

You shouldn't need to top off if you just did the bypass. The reason is you're eliminating a segment of the path the fluid goes through. Check your ATF level using the dipstick on the passengers side of the engine. You will need a 10mm socket to take the bolt that hold the ATF dipstick.
