01 pathfinder electrical problems

Postby dawg2011 » Tue Aug 12, 2014 5:09 pm

my 01 Pathfinder is really a great little truck have only owned it a year and this is only the second problem that I''ve had with it. OK Recently it has started to drive me crazy. I have a sometimes problem with all my acc that are supposed to stay set when I turn the truck off (trip meter, stereo, clock) it doesn't do it all the time but at least once a day it will reset everything. I have checked all the fuses, I'm on here to ask if anyone has encountered this and if so the answer to. I am not an electrician so I'm lost on this. I tried to replace my horns a couple months ago and still cant get them to work. The horn was to far back to have any impact on whats happening now.

I have replaced a few ignition switches for similar incidents. I can't say 100% that it will fix your vehicles, but it is a possibility and something you may want to check into.

You don't need to replace the whole key and lock assy. to replace the ignition switch; you can get the ignition switch separately and it's a whole lot easier to change and cheaper. From Nissan, it's part #48750-0M010 and retails for about $50. It's likely to be available on the aftermarket as well. Also, if you have micro-chipped keys, you won't have to reprogram them if you just replace the ignition switch.
