Do I Need a Transmission Cooler??

Postby JeremyT » Fri May 27, 2016 8:16 am

Hey Everyone,

I installed a hitch on my 2013 Pathfinder SL. I did the installation myself in preparation for getting my teardrop camping trailer. The trailer only weighs about 1100 lbs. That is all I intend on pulling. Should I get a transmission cooler given the weight is pretty low? If so, would it be really expensive to have Nissan install one for me? Thanks

EDIT* My SL is only FWD

Jeremy

I dont think a transmission cooler is necessary just a for a small trailer.

I wouldn't bother getting one installed.

All of the R52 models above the "S" level are identical mechanically, so have the 5000 lb. tow capacity built-in, regardless of whether you have the tow package or not.
