V8 muffler on V6?

Postby smj999smj » Sat Jan 14, 2017 8:03 pm

Has anyone looked into or the topic ever discussed about installing the V8 Pathfinder muffler and rear exhaust assembly on a V6 model? I know the post cats are different lengths, but I would expect that due to the different engines/exhaust manifolds. It looks like, however, the pipe flanges of the exhaust where the post cats and front pipes of the rear exhaust connect are in the same location and I would expect the mufflers to be located in the same area and rear pipes to be similarly run. My thinking is if it bolts up similarly, the V8 muffler would be a good option for those wanting a two-inlet, muffler option (as opposed to the restrictive "Y") but don't want the loud drone of a Magnaflow muffler or Gibson cat-back exhaust.
