did you remove the intake plenum in order to access the spark plugs?heckler40 wrote:Replaced plugs tensioner and belt today and started it for the first time. The car idles around 900rpm but is really rough. Also, SES light comes on after the car has been running for 10 minutes.
Havent done anything else such as a ecu reset or idle air volume learn. Note that there was a little dust inside the MAF housing as throttle body and wiped it carefully. Didn't clean either one.
When I push the gas pedal, it surges like it's got a vacuum leak. And, VDC Off light is on.
Really surprised. Should it be this rough? Next steps?
edit1 - should say I had the battery disconnected during all the procedures.
did you install NGK OEM spark plugs, and since there apparently have been some counterfeit plugs on the market, are you sure they're genuine NGK?heckler40 wrote:Replaced all six and still get a 0300. Any other well known items?
Thinking this through, checking for a leak may be my next step. I've felt all around all hoses and visually checked the best I can. My gut is telling me the sound when pressing the accelerator could be the engine pulling in additional air. I checked the drivers side but can't check the passenger side due to everything in the way.eieio wrote:I'd suggest that you check for vaccum leaks and/or mis-connected hoses in the related areas.heckler40 wrote:I did but not completely off. Didn't even take the brake vacuum off.
