315 75 16 on stock 7 inch width wheel

Postby BullDozer » Sun Oct 13, 2019 1:41 pm

I found of pair of Duratracs someone was tossing out. I put the pair on my extra set of stock wheels. No issues putting these wide tires on the stock 7 inch wheel. I put both on the rear and drive around the block. No issues. Of course the front would require turning so that might where I run into problems.

Question is it safe to to put the 315 75 16 on stock wheel? I would be driving on the highway.

The manufacturer recommends the tire be mounted on a 16x8 to 16x10 wheel. That tire is almost 12-1/2" wide and 34-1/2" tall, which sound a bit big on an R51 unless you have it lifted.

Front is no go - barely even start turning and rubbing on trim.
However it looks like wheel width ok.
