I have a 2011 SV. It has auto mode. Maybe it was an option? The VIN checks out as being an SV as well and the 4WD indicator in the gauge cluster shows AUTO when it's turned to that setting.

Do you have the word "AUTO" on your select knob for the transfer case?

I do. 2WD, AUTO, 4-HI, & 4,-LO.

Very interesting! Tough to find information on it, but one source I did find had the AUTO mode available in the LE and SV trims in 2011.

Interesting indeed. I find Nissan's decision odd to leave the Auto mode out of the Silver Edition when it was placed above the SV in terms of trim levels.

My Canadian model S has the AUTO mode as well.
