Bump when decelerating and accelerating at around 45 mph

Postby DodgeTransmissionsGoBoom » Mon May 04, 2020 7:23 am

I just started to notice a light jerk when I touch the gas or let off the gas at around 45 mph and I can make it do it over and over again by tapping the gas pedal when I'm at the perfect speed and it seems more noticeable when on a slight incline. It shifts perfectly smooth when accelerating at a steady rate or decelerating to stop but sometimes it does this light jerk but doesn't feel like a gear slip. I have a old Honda that has confirmed rough shifts and this doesn't feel quite the same. Could this possibly be a bad motor or trans mount since the rubber can crack and break? Or is my Transmission just starting to go out and this is a very early sign. The fluid is fresh and clean and it has a almost new radiator with 0 signs of coolant in the trans.

Nissan did have some issues with engine mount breakage in the early years of the R51 (you don't state what year you have) and there was a TSB on it. Some people have even found bad body mounts. Only thing to do would be to do a good overall check of the vehicle, including those items, trans mount, U-joints, etc.

Yes it is an r51 it has some rust in some places im the second owner it was in Illinois for the first 5 years of its life but since then it's been in North carolina. The struts are about the worst looking out of everything. But I'll check all the rubber bushing and engine/trans/body mounts.

I can't seem to get this complicated image thing to work but if you copy and paste the link you can see it. I found a cracked up engine mount and the sides can be pushed in like it could be hollow.

Engine brake test is a good way to tell. I like this video myself.

Nissan bulletin NTB11-014B refers to front engine mount vibration/noise for 2005-2011 Pathfinders with the V6. If you confirm a mount is cracked or leaking, replace both stoppers, mounts and bolts with ones from the parts information table. Flat rate time 3.3 hours.

Nissan Parts:

2 of # 11220-ZG90A insulators
2 of # 11225-ZG90A stoppers
2 of # 11298-ZS00A bolts-stopper to engine mount bracket
4 of # 11298-2J206 bolts-stopper to bracket

Is aftermarket an option? After all those parts it will cost almost as much as I paid for the car😂.

I have PRG polyurethane motor mounts. Love 'em. No more movement from the engine when I hit the gas, and won't eventually fail and require replacement again like the OEM fluid filled ones.

Yeah your second picture is the differential mounts. Not aware of aftermarket for that.

What brand did you use? Was it no name eBay ones or a mainstream aftermarket name? Anchor/DEA/Beck and Arnley/etc
