That’s really good to know. Thanks, since Ace Hardware wanted $160 for the fob. I only paid and bought the key from them for $100.VStar650CL wrote: ↑Thu Jul 14, 2022 12:50 pmThe key has to be programmed by a dealer or smithy in order to start the engine. You can easily self-program the fobs. See DLK-117 for the procedure:

I was cross referencing the FCC ID. I ordered one from Amazon ( key fob).VStar650CL wrote: ↑Thu Jul 14, 2022 5:50 pmAs long as you're sure it fits. I wouldn't go by looks or MMY. Lots of Nissan fobs look identical but don't have the same internal hardware. Get the OE fob part number from NissanPartsDeal using your VIN, then google for fobs using that.
Each time I remove the key from the ignition barrel the doors unlock. Is there setting to disable this, since I believe its preventing me getting further.VStar650CL wrote: ↑Thu Jul 14, 2022 12:50 pmThe key has to be programmed by a dealer or smithy in order to start the engine. It's supposed to work that way. On some models you can change it so there's no Auto Unlock or so it does it when you put the shifter in Park instead of when the key is removed. Not sure what the possibilities are on your Pathy, it will be in the BCM settings under the "ECU Diagnostics" heading of the Doors, Locks and Vehicle Security (DL) section of the FSM.
Thanks but I don’t think I can access those settings. Only ones I see on the vehicle settings are under driver convenience menu. Nothing there to unlock when in Park. Or unlock when key removed. Must be a default setting.VStar650CL wrote: ↑Sat Jul 16, 2022 3:09 pmIt's supposed to work that way. It is, but on some of the older stuff it can be changed by the dealer with BCM settings and turned on or off by you using the lock/unlock button. Yours is one of them. See DLK-12, bottom of the page:
