What does Nissan call the lower engine splash shield?

Postby palmerwmd » Sat Feb 27, 2021 2:40 pm

What does Nissan call the lower engine splash shield on an R51?
I could find them for R50 and R52 all day long using that nomenclature but not for R51.
I no longer have my old R51 for comparison.

Do we even HAVE a big plastic shield under the car like most other modern Nissans?
If not would be Frontier one interchange?
But my Xterra has one.
I suspect the Xterras might fit actually.

Right now I only have a metal shield thats kinda small and goes from the front lip for about a foot under the front of the engine bay to cover only asmall portion under the engine..
The area of the belts and alternator mostly is covered.

On my 2005 that's what I have, the front shield as yours, nothing else.

Nissan Parts Deal shows this.
Part # 50810-EA00A

Only thing I can find for Frontier is this Cover-Under Engine
50842-7S000

Not sure this is what you had under your Xterra. They looks like skid plates (4 of them0, and show that they are not compatible for the R51 from NissanPartsDeal

Thanks!
You know, its all just turning into a blur for me, with all the different Nissans I've owned..
When buying cars used they were often missing that rubber/plastic splash guard under the entire engine bay.
but maybe we simply dont have one.

Now that u mention it ...
My Xterra is a PRO4X so it has skidplate there, not the big rubber part anyway...

Yes, my 2011 came with a factory metal splash guard/skid plate that extends back to the front crossmember.

Should be a metal cover; at least that's what I have on my 06 and 08 Pathfinders, both V6. The 08 has a slightly larger oil access hole in it. If you got the SE-OR edition, there would be another metal shield directly under the engine, one under the transfer case and another below the gas tank. I added them to my 06 LE.
