I am so happy that new wheels+tires fit without any modding, but that came with a side effect: spare does not fit! Looks like 2010 facelift changed dimensions of spare tire space under the trunk just a little bit, just enough so bigger tire 265/65-R18 or 265/70-R17 does not fit anymore.
With previous model R51 years 2006-2009 it fit perfectly. Will try to figure out something, because I do not like other options:
- Having a spare in trunk is no option, as it takes up too much space
- Mounting on roof alters center of gravity, not like it
- Mounting on back doors requires additiona hardware, too expensive
- Having smaller dimension tire is not usable as a spare
