Locating sunroof drain lines 2009 PF V6

Postby Limey » Wed Jul 20, 2022 10:22 am

I saw a video which I cannot locate which indicated the front drain lines exit under the winshield Cowell trim piece. I removed all that and I couldn't see any drain plugs there at all.

Does anyone know where I can locate the drain lines for the sunroof on a 2009 PF 4L V6 for both front and back please? I haven't checked but I think the back ones are somewhere near the rear wheel wells. I would like to clear them all out. Thanks

See RF-56 here:

I've always thought it was idiotic that the FSM's don't show exactly where the bottom fittings are, but at least the drawing will let you hunt intelligently. It looks like the front ones are under the cowl, but on a lot of models they're either tucked way up out of sight or inaccessible behind sheet metal covers. So you may need to reach them from inside. Clogs almost always happen at the bottom fittings, so if you get them from inside, make sure to poke a screwdriver through the bulkhead fittings to assure that they're clear.

Thanks. This is really frustrating, I removed all the lower windshield trim parts inc wiper arms etc and couldn’t see anything on either corner under there. Could they possibly be under the wheel wells for the 2009 model ?

No, the FSM shows them coming out in the cowl. They must be masked underneath some sheet metal, which means access from the inside only.
