Latest to keep my 05 rolling

Postby outoforder » Tue Jan 31, 2023 5:21 am

Daughter now drives my 05 that I bought new. Tire pressure light comes on so I take it to put air in the tires. I notice the brakes are somewhat squishy and the steering seems vague. End up replacing front wheel bearing per mechanics advice and getting the brake fluid flushed. According to daughter it’s better-I haven’t driven it yet. 177K. I think I’ve now replaced both front wheel bearings, but I remember the other one being a very noticeable problem when it went. This one was more stealthy.

Stock steering on these trucks is pretty vague even when new. I put PRG delrin steering rack bushings in mine and it tightened up the steering quite a lot.
