I recently replaced the tailgate lift on my wife's Honda Pilot and came across this gas strut hood lift for a Pathfinder on Ebay. It looks like a nice modification and appears to be more or less plug and play. Have any of you had experience with this?

Sorry, no, I haven't done it.
In regards to no drilling on the ebay site... I don't recall seeing any holes on the fender that would support their claim. But that doesn't matter, but I would be concerned with heat from the engine affecting the seal of the gas lift.

BTW, I looked at my '06, and there's only one place to mount those struts. The upper cowling plastic cover at the rear of the engine compartment has a button clip at each end holding it to the sheet metal cowling frame. That has to be where they would attach. But, they're from Thailand, so who the hell really knows?

Just a word of advice, not all pathfinder/navara products from thailand or some other asian country will work on our US spec pathfinder. I purchased chrome foglight trims from a seller from thailand on ebay and they did not fit on our pathfinder. Luckily the seller I encountered was a responsible ebayer and refunded me my full amount once I sent pics of the incompatibility. Hope this helps.
As a matter of fact, i just checked the ebay listing and it is the exact same seller I used last time. If it doesnt fit and you send him a pic to prove it he will refund your money. This guy is legit.
