20" wheels offset

For those of you whom uprgraded to 20" wheels with 285-50 tires etc when shopping for a specfic rim should offset be considered correct me if I am wrong the lower the offset the more the rim sticks out or is it vice versa who knows the pathy's limit with 20 can we fit 20x9 ?? :cry:

offset is 18-20 mm. wheelmax.com check it out Hommie.
