I had a feeling this would happen, and I bet they will start fixing tranny coolant problems without any excuses.

I read this earlier too. I purchased a 2006 SE used last month. Will they cover my Path since I purchased it used?

I copied this paragraph from a news website.

"The faulty fuel gauge recall covers the Titan, Armada and Infiniti QX56 built from 2005 to 2008, and the Frontier, Pathfinder and Xterra produced between January and March 2006 and between October 2007 and January 2008."

So, NOT ALL, will be under recall.

This is great news!! my 05 fuel gauge just crapped out on me a month or so ago. My manufactured date is September 05 and by readind the posted link it calls for Pathfinders manufactured between "January and March 2006" and October 2007 and Jan 08....WTF? I hope they mean January 05 to March 06. I will hit the dealer on March 22

Here's a link on Nissan's site to request notification of any recalls that affect your vehicle -
http://www.nissanusa.com/apps/contactus/recall
Here's another that can be searched for recalls for any and all Nissans -
http://www.nissanextendedwarranty.com/r ... mit=Submit

Despite the fact that this latest story has popped up on many major news sites, Nissan's site makes no mention of it.

The recall link states this...
Nissan also is recalling 419,000 vehicles in the U.S. and 53,000 elsewhere because gas gauges can show fuel left in the tank when it's actually empty.
Doesnt sound like quite the same symptom as most of us here have talked about. Mine shows 1/4 to 1/2 full, when it is Full. And the DTE shows "0" or "_ _ _ _ _"

I just tried to contact my service dealer as my car is doing what is described, they said that the 2005 Pathfinder isn't eligible. I think this is BS as my car is doing the exact thing this is describing. I put in 19 gallons of gas today and before putting gas in my gauge read half full. Ridiculous.

I have same problem as well, call them back and tell them there is a list of 2005 owners who have same problem.

and if they don't cover tell to put it on paper and contact nissan corporate.

I told her that I knew plenty of people with a 2005 that have had the same problem. She said I'd have to take it up with Nissan USA. I say we need to all band together to get this taken care of. I'm about to call Nissan USA to see what I can get out of them.

I'll call tomorrow as well. We need to get something done about this for us 2005 owners.

If you call, be sure to mention the fact that there is no difference (as far as I can tell from the parts listing) in part numbers from 2005 to 2006 on the fuel sender unit.
