Hey all: My liking of Nissan trucks has been with me most of my life. My dad has owned 2 1984 720's, so I was eager to get a 1986.5 hardbody a little over a year ago. However, after much work being done to it, it still handles rather un-nervingly on the interstates and the brakes just refuse to operate correctly, so we went on the hunt for a replacement. We found a 1998 5 speed 4wd Pathfinder that had been well cared for and garaged. So now I have it and am pretty happy the way it drives. I have so far averaged 18.75 mpg in curvey roads, stop and go traffic, although most of it was in 4th and 5th gear at 50-75mph.
Anyhoo, I have a few quick ?'s about the 1998:
It has 130k miles on it, and has had the timing belt, water pump ,clutch, exhaust and spark plugs replaced in the past 2-3 years. Not sure about any of the suspension-are these known to have issues at this mileage with ball joints and hte like?
Another question: Is it possible to mount a factory swing out spare tire carrier from an early 90's pathfidner onto my year without much fabrication, if any?
THanks for everything
William
