WTH is this?

There are two of them. They are located on the outside of each frame rail about midway of the vehicle. There are two bolts securing each and there are no wires or anything connected to them. The round piece is very hard rubber, somewhat like a motor mount or body mount, but surely not either of those.

Is it some kind of isolator for noise or vibration? Maybe Nissan unlocked the mystery of the flux capacitor?

you said it bro, I saw these when I did my first look under the pathy, I assumed the same thing, some kind of anti-vibration part. kinda wierd huh??

Some engineer (making more money than us) determined that it needs to be there. It's a vibration dampener of some sort.

I've tried many times but no luck yet. :twisted:

Over the past week, I've spent a lot of time under there getting measurements and test fitting the rocker guards that I'm making. I first noticed them and thought nothing of it, but as I looked closer, I noticed there were no wires or anything running to them. That got me curious.

It's actually a vibration damper - not a dampener. It doesn't make the vibration more damp.

Dampener is correct...

Damp and dampen are synonyms, so I am sure either will work.

And that class is our English lesson for the day! We gotta make sure use of proper grammar and sentence formation is used on a car forum! :P
