Optimas are nice but I just went to Sams Club and bought something equivalent to OEM, I believe the brand was Energizer?

Funny I bought my 05 certified pre owned and when my battery died it appeared to be a battery from a much smaller vehicle... maybe a Sentra lol?

The specs on the dead battery and the requirements in the owners manual were way off.

Good luck and let us know what you end up buying?

i replaced both of my R51 batteries with Optima Red Tops
they have a good reputation & warranty, and there are no caps or fluids or leakage to deal with at all (very important to me :D)

I had an Optima red top. The first one lasted 2 years and 11 months. It was replaced free under warranty and the second one only lasted 2 years. I went back to a standard battery. Autozone Duralast Gold with 3 year free replcement. It was $79.

I am going to replace current (5 years old 65Ah) battery with more powerful one (hopefully Varta Silver dynamic 100Ah).

In winter I use Eberspächer heater but it switches off due to weak battery (The voltage drops to 10V).

Used an Optima for 5 years on my Grand Am, heavy on electical use due to stereo system.
Lasted through a few occations of leaving the lights on.
Finally had a cell go bad.
For my PF, the sound system won't nearly draw as much juice but I will eventually go to a Yellow top this time for the discharge capability and higher reserve capacity.

My 05 has the auto headlights so they stay on a little while after the car is shut off. I think that has something to do with the batteries going bad sooner than normal.
