Excessive (Brake?) Dusting

I've noticed that along the rear quarter panels and the back gate i get a fairly heavy coating of black dust. Is this brake dust? I've never seen it this heavy on any of my other vehicles. I thought OEM pads were ceramic and have never seen ceramics dust that much. Anyone else experiencing this? Thanks.

I get a little bit of copper looking dust on my front rims but never anything black or typical dust looking. I'm assuming they're ceramic or something different anyway. Very happy with the OEM brakes on this...at 36k miles and still have a lot of life.
