Fog Lights

Postby HerbsPF » Fri Dec 10, 2010 4:43 pm

Original fog lamps are 55W/ Do you think that a 100w lamp would do any damage because of the extra draw? An outfit on Ebay is selling 100w yellow lamps which I think would look better and give better light but want to make sure that I don't mess anything up.

There are guys that have modified H9 bulbs to work in place of the H11's, you just have to do a little trimming. A 100w bulb would probably get too hot for the housing to handle. The H9's have been installed for long periods of time with no problems and they give you a bit more output considering they are 65w (same as hi beam lamps). Just Google H9 to H11 conversion, there are plenty of articles. Especially from the Mazda RX8 guys.

Have you considered LED's? I thought I saw somewhere on Ebay they are equivalent to 100w.

I could be wrong.

The conversion is the same for all makes, you are converting the H9 bulb to fit the H11 harness and socket.

Here are some instructions I googled.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I can't seem to find the correct factory foglight bulb size for my 2012 Pathy. Is it H11?

Yes, it's H11. Here's a bulb guide:

Hi Cruzstyle,

Can you give me a link on where you picked up your HID kit. I have a 05 pathfinder.
