Highway Driving

i removed the bottom black liner of the front bumper so it doesnt break off when i offroad.

the problem is that on highway driving, the wind pressure is forcing the bumper back to start rubbing gently on the tyre.
i have 275/70's and they fit snugly, but with the wind pressure, they are starting to eat away at the inner cover liner.

anyone have a solution for this before i start making a solution for myself?

any thoughts welcomed.

Why not put it back on till you off road again?

Maybe what you could do is install some 1/8" flat metal bars on the bumper and frame?

i offroad every friday.
its 7 bolts/screws each side, and 3 of them not easily accessible.

im not into knucklescratching twice a week.

i had 2 ideas so far,

one of them as you said the metal reinforcements, but the bumper would break from the inside out if i do that, specially when u bash a sand dune facefirst or nosedive. it would have to be metal inserts taking the shape of the bumper from inside. ill scout around the steelworks shop to see if they can fabricate anything,

another idea was to let the bumper follow its previous 3 colleagues.
bumpers are made for breaking anyways.

I did not have a problem with the bumper getting into my tires when I removed that piece, but the inner fender did, especially when I have the 285s on the truck. I used a zip tie to secure both pieces together and keep the inner fender away from the tire.
