new noise...great

Postby mc01ta » Sun Jan 30, 2011 5:44 pm

07 Pathfinder with 54k miles. Had whinning noise previously and had stealership replace cam sensor if I recall that fixed it. Recently I had the coolant flushed and changed. Just started picking up a weird swishing water type sound on slow take off in first gear when I slowly climb up in first gear. I don't hear it 2nd gear on picking up speed or cruising. I checked coolant and everything looked good, ran car up to warm up temp the other day with radiator cap off to take out any air in the system.

Any clue what this could be? I'm planning on taking this back to the stealership soon before my powertrain warranty expires but figured I'd start here if I can find out what it is first. Thanks!

every Pathfinder does that, it's the coolant going into the heater core. The line that goes through the firewall is highest point in the cooling system so all bubbles will rest there.

how do I get the air out then? I really don't want to take it back to them unless I have to.
