Picking up an 05 SE

Postby oreogaborio » Sun Feb 13, 2011 3:29 pm

Hey Guys,

New to the forum. Already posted in the New Member's forum (link) to say I'm picking up an 05 SE tomorrow afternoon.

I'll be using this mostly for commuting, but also for towing. Right now I just have an open 4'x8' utility trailer and will be pulling one, maybe two motorcycles, so not much of a load at all.

But in the future I plan on picking up a larger enclosed trailer, like a 5x12 or longer which will increase the weight a bit.

Do you guys have any suggested towing rigs for a load that size?

Would you recommend air suspension in the rear or just a load equalizing hitch such as linked below?

A friend of mine has a hitch similar to that but I'm curious to see what others use.

My AirLift bags work just fine on my '05 for loads of 4000-5000lb. I'd say if you plan on anything in the range of 5000-6000lb, you'll def want to use a weight dist. hitch along with the bags.
