Lumber Support/Adjustment

Is there a trick to using this lever on the drivers side for the Lumber Support?

I have leather seats with full power, the manual states that the Lumber Adjustment is manual operation but no matter how many times I move that lever, I feel no difference.

It takes a little bit of force to pull the little handle towards the front of the truck. From its back position it moves maybe 2-3 inches forward. I pulled it as far as the little lever would go and you can feel the lumbar popping out.
