Projector headlight options

Postby oreogaborio » Sun Mar 06, 2011 8:12 pm

So I've been keeping my eyes on ebay & the likes for grins & giggles to see what kind of projector headlight options are available to us.

It seems like there's four different replacement housing styles, each listed as fitting 05-08, but as some of us have found out, the 08 is slightly different. I think it was the mounting tab locations?

Anyway, here's what I found on ebay.

If I end up pulling the trigger, I'll probably go with something like this, which is the one linked above but with 35w 6000k bulbs & ballasts included.

And this last one, which has the 05-08 Pathfinder listed... but I'm guessing it's just a stock photo of an assembly for a different make/model. Looks like it's probably for the R50 Pathfinder.

The '08+ headlights are a different size/shape altogether. It's not much of a difference..maybe an inch overall and slightly more raked corners. As mentioned the mounting tabs do not line up.

I bought the ones you had listed with the HID's.
I bought mine without HID and added my own 35 W for Low and 55w for the High beams.
I did not hook up the Halo or the other LEDs though.
They will not fit 2008 but did work with my 2005. I think they are a huge improvement from stock and I have tons of light.
They are basic quality so I notice a few odd shadows close to the car. They also only have one adjuster. UP/Down. For whatever reason these are made without the ability to adjust them properly for left/right. It is only a problem if you are real picky like me and want them 100% properly adjusted.
I took them to have them professionally adjusted with my HID's and was told the beams cross. The right one is pointed a little too left and the left one is pointed a little too left. It is not quite enough that I get flashed very often but it is enough where it does go in the drivers lane more than it should and I should have another 2-3 feet of light on the shoulder of passenger side.
I love the fact that my low's stay on when I put on my high beams. The amount of light is unbelievable. I think if I get HID fogs I can take car of the stupid odd shadows closer to the car.
Personally I would find the lens without HID and order them yourself and know what quality you are getting for HID.
