Son-of-a......

Postby aadadams » Wed Jun 01, 2011 11:12 am

Somebody hit my parked Pathfinder. I have a 2-3 inch split in my bumper cover just above the license plate bracket! No note, either... Debating about calling insurance... I hate it when crap like this happens... [/VENT]

Any chance the parking lot had security cameras? If so and they can get the plate, whoever hit you and ran is going to be in A LOT of trouble.

I noticed it after I was home. I had gone to work and several stores running around with the wife... So, tying it down would be improbable.

How bad? Any pictures of the damage you could post? Have you contacted your insurance?

I will get a pic of the damage posted tomorrow. I have not contacted insurance as I'm hoping to have this repaired without an increase in my insurance rates, LOL! I figure if I can get it fixed for under 500 I might as well do it even though my deductible is only 100, LOL!

Replacing the bumper will be about to $700-$800.

I would use insurance. They should not hike up your rate for that. That's why you have insurance is for cases like this. If not, why do we all pay premium rates just to never use it?

Sorry to hear that. I had a couple hit-and-run drivers hit my old Titan. The last one caused a really bad vibration that caused me to get rid of the truck (one of many reasons for me to dump it, but it was the final straw).

It pi$$es me off when careless people won't take responsibility for their own actions.

Yep that ish happened to me too many times. Parked at night one night found license plate bracket laying on the ground. Parking lot gash in the bumper above the driver's side fog light. Month later gash in rear quarter panel behind the wheel. Some ppl just don't care..

Guys! Easy solved problem.

I have the Bully Foot Step ($40) in the back on my hitch and it is about two feet wide sticks out like a mini bumper. People nail that thing all the time in the parking lot and they never leave a scratch (only paint) and I never get to see what their car looks like (but I know what color it was).

In the front I have the Bull Bar ($210) which plain keeps cars away. No scratches or paint on it. Other drivers must see it from their low position in their cars and just not even try to get near it.

So hey, invest a few bucks and some time, and hand it back to those lousy parking puckers. Yeah baby.

BTW there is also a neat looking back bumper guard that installs like a Bull Bar.
