New Pathfinder SE owner

Postby 1armyguy » Sat Aug 13, 2011 6:52 am

Hello all, Just purchased a 08 Pathfinder SE. Will be picking it up next week after it gets cleaned up and a couple of things taken care of.
Is there any advice or suggestions as to what to be aware of or have checked out?

GREAT forum guys and gals

It has 25K on it. I looked for some pictures that carsense had listed but, they have removed it from their website already. Sorry

Thank you for the information. Do you have any description as to what to look for pertaining to each of the links you mentioned?

did you read through the FAQs in the links?
symptoms of the radiator failure are "strawberry milkshake" appearing transmission oil from coolant contamination
in later stages, the transmission fails
regarding the fuel level sending unit, the level of fuel indicated on the dash meter will be inaccurate
the FAQs explain all this pretty well

welcome casualvic :)
from FAQ1 (radiator assy):
"This warranty extension applies only to the radiator assembly and its component parts, and includes damage, repairs, replacement, and related towing resulting from this issue."

many owners have by-passed the internal radiator/transmission cooler or replaced the radiator in order to avoid this problem

I'm new too and glad to know you. My Pathfinder had no apparent issues with the radiator, or transmission but I did the bypass as a precaution. The head mechanic at my Nissan Dealership recommended I do it without delay. I also did the bypass on my son's 05 Frontier. I figure the old, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" hold true on this one.
