New to The Nissan Path.

Postby PapaRomeo51 » Tue Aug 16, 2011 7:03 pm

I just bought my second Pathfinder. My first was a 95 4x4 that I purchased from the original owner with 70K miles. I drove it for 11 years and it had over 230,000 miles when I sold it. My new one is an 05 LE 4X4, storm metalic gray, with 68K miles. I have already had the fuel sending unit replaced under warranty, replaced the fuel vapor canister valve and bypassed the engine radiator transmission cooler( to avoid any future problems ). I replaced the rear shocks with Bilstein HD Shocks two weeks ago and this weekend I'm replacing the front struts with KYB's and doing the PRG 2" mini lift. I loved my first pathfinder and it gave me great service. I hope this one lives up to my expectations. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you.

Thanks, I found a lot of what I have learned about my R51 on this site before I became a member. Wish I new it was here before, but I really didn't have any issues with my 95 Pathfinder.

Received the PRG 2"mini lift kit today. Stopped in at Advance Auto and borrowed a coil spring compressor, and sprayed PB Blaster on the suspension nuts and bolts to soak over night. I'm very excited to start this project tomorrow after work. Plan on doing the rear first and the front Saturday morning.

The lift is complete and I love it. This is what the Pathfinder should have looked like from the factory. I know everyone has seen this lift, but I will post picture later.

The front struts were OEM and the rear shocks were Reflex. All were worn out! The KYB Struts and the Bilstein Shocks feel great. I would recommend the set up.

This PRG mini lift kit is this: http://www.prgproducts.com/shop/product ... _mini_kit/

It's only a spacer lift. Did you buy new shocks for the front and back as well, or just use the original?

I plan on putting 285/70/17 tires on soon with an all terrain tread. Probably BFG raised white letter.
