Strange sound in clutch

Postby smarty » Sun Oct 16, 2011 11:18 pm

Hello!

Last days maybe because it is cold outside near 0°C my Pathfinder have strange sound when I press clutch. But this sound dissapear in some minutes or seconds.

Soo when I start engine and press clutch, put in first gear and slowly let off the pedal of clutch I hear some rubbing. This happens only in cold motor. When the motor is hot there is all OK, no sound. Soo this sound is only when I want to lead away with my car. Soo only when I try to go in first gear or maybe in reverse.

Let's say I go in first gear and let off the pedal (I hear sound) then I press the pedal and I go in reverse (I hear sound) and then sound go OFF. Then is all OK.

Someone know what should be wrong? :)

Soo this sound dissapear soon, maybe when I press 2x clutch then it's gone.

How much km should I make with car? Should be something wrong if I drive?
Or I must change soon as possible?

Also when car is cold and if I run it for some minutes and then try to puch Clutch there is no sound. Soo only if I run cold car.

Throw-out bearing. Quiet until it expands with heat, then loosens up to make noise because it's worn out. (MY GUESS) My '01 is at 149,000 and in need of a new clutch; so all will get changed out...pressure plate, disk, and throw-out bearing. Anything else on these Pathfinders? Anyone? Really have to baby it to prevent slipping.
