Reverse light wiring for backup camera

Postby geoffstgermaine » Thu Feb 14, 2008 3:12 pm

I'm putting a Boyo rear view camera on my PF. I know that I can tap into the revese light power at the reverse lights. I am running the video cable up to the center console anyway, so I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a place to tap into the reverse lights' power by the shifter. The power connections for the camera also run all the way down the camera cable to the composite plug anyway, so it would be most convenient to connect it somewhere in the center console.

I think the reverse switch won't give you enough juice. You are better off with the light source as your power. You can tap right off of the relay E45 Pin 3 in the relay box on the passenger side of the engine bay.
