Are they kidding? SEVEN - NINE GRAND? That seems indescribably low to me. Maybe i'm in dream land. Any opinions?

last year around this time, may or june I wanted to get an idea of what my 05 path would be in a trade in value. of course the dealer completely low ball me to under $10K.keep in mind the car was in perfect condition & way under the yearly mileage.
I know the dealer says they need to be able to turn around and sell the car but I was willing to make a deal with them. I say give me closer to $15K and I would buy one of theirs at $25-$28.
of course no deal. I keep the path.

I don't know Can market that well, except you guys get hosed on new car prices. In the states, you're looking at a trade value of around $9k-$11k. So their range isn't off by more than maybe $2k.

One other thing I noticed however was that site doesn't give you an option to chose between 2wd and 4wd. Did they sell a 2wd LE in Can? It's possible they're showing values of a 2wd which = $2k easily.

Possible, I never thought about that.

You can't even buy a 2wd up here, unless it was imported from down south...

I think gas prices can effect that too. I know one of my bosses traded in is suburban when prices spike last year and got squat for it.

I just traded in my 05 SE with 148km and a previous accident from before I bought it worth 10k. I got 8 for it and that was the highest I could get from any dealer, new or used.

Also keep in mind most dealers really don't look at these "book" values anymore. The books typically lag real-world by a wide margin. Most will go look up auction prices from the previous day...or today and go with that. Until you go and try to hammer out a deal...these published numbers are nearly useless.
