IPF 868 Driving Lights

If you are like me and want a little more punch when driving rural roads, this might be for you.

I will start off by saying that I am not a serious off road driver but do drive many miles on dirt roads to mines sites all over the province of BC. I was not sure that I wanted a Bull Bar, with lights, for what I use my Pathy for and I could not justify the LED light bars I wanted. So, like most things in life, I think I came up with a pretty good compromise. I was looking for lights that would fit into the bottom portion of the grill and really could not find many that would. I decided on the IPF868 driving lights with the 100 watt lamps. The beam is narrow and does a good job lighting up the road and those beedie little eyes. It's not hard core but apparently nor am I

Looks good. How did you mount them? That bumper cover is very flimsy in that area aside from the small metal brace holding the bumper cover clip. Even that brace is kinda week as light mount location. Can you take a close up pic of the mounting location, if you get a chance? I've been working on the same idea, but can't find a solid place to mount up the lights so they would not vibrate.

Hey guys,

Should be able to post pictures by the weekend.

Behind the front license plate frame there is about a 2" square tube which runs pretty much the distance between the factory fogs. This two inch bumper tube attaches to the front part of the frame and is a very solid platform to mount any lights. The light mounting bracket is on the bottom of the light and is not hanging from the top. There isn't anything on the top of the lower grill to mount anything too. If you reach in to the lower part of the grill you should feel the metal bumper tube.

Ok, thanks! Now it makes sense. How did you drill through that metal square tube under the bumper cover to be able to put the light there? Im curious how did you work the angle of the drill considering the lack of space to hold te drill perpendicular to the surface, unless you were able to drill from below? I love your set up - just trying to figure out how it's bolted down.

Use an angle drill. It is small enough to fit the space with a short bit. You could drill from below but would need to remove the small plastic bumper and factory skid plate to get to the bumper tube. I used a longer bolt than what was supplied to go all the way through the bumper tube to get a lock washer and nut on it.

What are the 2 things in between your new driving lights and your license plate? Are they deer sirens/whitles/horns?

Just to clarify on the night pix - was the top picture taken with your headlights and stock fogs on and bottom picture with all the lights on including IPFs?

The top picture was headlights on low beam only. The bottom picture was with headlights on low beam and IPF's, no fogs. The first picture was just to show all lights on at the same time.
