First short trip

Postby eluwak » Sun Jul 15, 2012 6:42 pm

We purchased the Pathfinder while our kids were staying with my folks in Florida for a month. This weekend we ran down to Ft. Rucker to meet up and get the kids back. This was the first time for serious seat time in this truck as I have only had it for a week.

I was pretty excited to see the MPG get up to the 22 mark after 250 miles or so:

I was thinking the computer wass pretty optomistic, but the hand calculations backed up the computer. Our second tank averaged 22.4 MPG with a trip average of 21.6 MPG

We met up at the Mellow Mushroom outside Ft. Rucker in Enterprise. Since we're not military ourselves, we had to be escorted onto base by my dad from here.

We stayed the night in a cottage you can rent out. This one was a three bedroom, and was right on the lake! Some military lodging is hit or miss, but when they hit they really hit hard! 8) You can see the folks Ridgeline to the left, and our Path on the right with the bikes loaded.

The bike rack looks like a strange tail... But it didn't seem to affect the fuel economy any.

The kids loaded in the back all ready to go home! :)

Overall the Path worked out really well. There was a little shifting around on the highway, but nothing that couldn't be easily controlled. I think I may add the airbags in the future to see if it stabilizes it a little more.

Nice pictures. I think you should do the airbags. You will never regret it.
