It has a lot to do with what kind of driving you do. At 84000, front and rear pads were put on my 06LE, but I'm the second owner and can't say if they were over replaced before. I have an 08SE that I put front brakes on around 70000 miles and rear pads on around 90000 miles.
My 06LE has genuine Nissan pads, front and rear. The performance is good but they tend to develope a squeek. Right now I have 20000 miles on them and they have a noticeable squeel when braking at low speeds. I had them off about 9000 miles ago to clean up the brakes and lubricate the backing plates and end plates with PBC grease.
The 08SE has Akebono ACT Ceramic brake pads that I purchased through Rockauto.com. They came with new hardware and lube. The perform as well if not better than the genuine Nissan pads and I have not experienced a single squeek, so far. The original Nissan pads were made by Hitachi, but Akebono is an OEM supplier to Nissan of brake pads and have been so for decades. The fact that they were a lot cheaper than genuine Nissan pads didn't hurt, either!. If I were to replace the pads ever again, I would definately go with the Akebono's.
